Association promoted workshop during Connected Smart Cities

 

Supporter of Connected Smart Cities, held on September 4th and 5th, 2018, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in São Paulo, ABES promoted, as part of the event's official program, the Workshop Cidades Conectadas, in the Villa Lobos room, this Wednesday (04), which discussed cyber security and risks, data protection, compliance, ways to promote and develop cities and education and citizen empowerment of smart and connected cities.
 
Daniel Morita, manager of Finep – São Paulo regional, opened the Technology Development and Financing panel talking about the scope of Finep's financing lines and its role in the process of transforming municipalities into smart cities. “We seek to enable companies to innovate through support to develop their solutions for the government, which is the main buyer of these innovations”, he highlighted.
 
According to Morita, Finep has R$ 3.5 billion in resources for its business innovation support strategy in 2018, of which 2.7 billion already have projects under analysis, in the different support lines that the company has, that benefit science and technology institutes, companies, startups and the municipalities themselves. “Unlike commercial banks, Finep provides excellent financing conditions for innovative high-risk projects, due to the potential impact on competitiveness and economic and social development”, he adds.

Emerging Technologies – Guilherme Amorim, Softex's market development manager, presented impressive numbers: more than 6,000 companies supported, 1,800 of which were startups. He also highlighted the organization's most recent initiative, which has institutional support from ABES: the Emerging Technologies Program - Tech-D, whose mission is to bring together Brazilian companies, R,D&I centers, Scientific and Technological Research Institutions and research project. The goal is to contribute to the Brazilian innovation policy, through the promotion and integration of the entities that make up the National Innovation System, encouraging the development of entrepreneurship projects with high technological impact in the thematic lines of Internet of Things (IoT), Energy , Mobility and Health.
 
“From September 20, a new public call for submission of projects will be published, which will be evaluated based on the demands that companies and R,D&I centers presented in the initial phases of Tech-D”, he informed. To learn more, visit: http://techd.softex.br/.
