According to data from Brasscom, from January 2020 to February 2024, the 17 sectors had a growth of 17.5% in job creation for women

With the government's recent decision to question the extension of the payroll tax exemption until 2027, through an action filed with the Federal Supreme Court (STF), it is essential to highlight the progress of the 17 sectors in relation to the generation of formal jobs.

The Brazil Exoneration Movement presents new data, based on a survey carried out by Brasscom (Association of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Digital Technologies Companies), which reinforces the effectiveness of the Payroll Exemption yesterday (01/05). The 17 sectors employ 2.50 million professionals with a formal contract and in the first 2 months of the year there was the generation of 40 thousand new female jobs.

In short, 234,811 jobs would not have been created for them without the Folha Exemption, in the period from January 2020 to February 2024. In the end, the policy made it possible 17,5% growth in the number of women in formal employment.

It is worth remembering that the Payroll Exemption is the tax replacement of the conventional social security contribution, 20% on the value of each employee's remuneration, with a single tax on the company's gross revenue.
