THE Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) is committed to creating a business environment in Brazil that promotes innovation, increases the competitiveness of companies and guarantees the ethical and transparent use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Therefore, on 04/24, Paulo Milliet Roque and Marcelo Gonçalves, President and Director of Government Relations, respectively, were present at the presentation of the report that will serve as the basis for bill 2338/23, reported by Senator Eduardo Gomes. During the session, the parliamentarian thanked the association for its contributions, which were made through consultations, public hearings and events on AI regulation.

Furthermore, ABES representatives spoke with other leaders, such as Senator Carlos Viana (president of the temporary AI committee), Senator Astronaut Marcos Pontes and Representative Luísa Canziani (rapporteur of PL 21/20 in the Chamber of Deputies). The presence of ABES was essential to establish the reference position that the association represents in the discussion of this regulation.

After the release of the report, the ABES Regulatory Committee and AI GT will analyze the proposed standards in detail, evaluating their impacts on the sector and presenting suggestions. Dialogue and balance between regulation and innovation are priorities in this process.

ABES reaffirms its position in favor of dialogue and the search for a balance between regulation and innovation.
