Initiative aims to reverse the shortage of talent in the IT area, positively impacting the level of competitiveness of companies and the country and ensuring harmony with trends in the Future of Work
Despite the growth of the IT market (Brazil is in the tenth position in this investment ranking, with US$ 45.7 billion invested, being the leader of the segment in Latin America), there is a shortage of skilled labor in the area, which must last a few years. In this context, ABES – Brazilian Association of Software Companies launches the platform HR Tech, which provides visibility of trends and gaps of the technology job market with real-time updates, and which aims to support the development of talents. The platform concentrates a hub with the courses of our partners, provides real-time updates on employability in technology and helps to promote discussions on career management, team development, talent retention, hybrid work model, among other topics.
The initiative, which has as partners blue, Success Institute of Entrepreneurship, My Digital Future, Qlik, Instituto Ser + and trampos, strictly follows ABES' purpose of contributing to the construction of a more digital and less unequal Brazil, in which information technology plays a fundamental role in the democratization of knowledge and the creation of new opportunities for all, and generated a series of of content that can be accessed free of charge, in an unrestricted manner, by any interested person.
According to Jamile Sabatini Marques, director of Innovation and Development at ABES and researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo (IEA-USP), RH Tech will integrate several important actions for the market and society, facilitating access information and in line with good ESG practices and the Association's commitment to the UN Global Compact. “Our idea is to bring the panorama of the sector, facilitate access to studies on the workforce, share employment opportunities and provide the dissemination of free courses that are available to society as a whole. With this, we seek to attract people who are looking to improve and work in the technology sector, while providing data that can serve as guides for public policies for the country”, he says.
The RH Tech platform is composed of a Technological Education Hub (online catalog with information on courses offered by ABES member companies, institutes, NGOs, among other educational institutions), by a Job Hub (with jobs for digital transformation and which aims to attract talent), and also provides the HR Tech Overview (which offers statistical data on employability in Digital Transformation) and the ABES/IDC Workforce Study (with exclusive information about the challenges organizations face in attracting and retaining talent in the areas of technology).
For Paulo Milliet Roque, president of ABES, the goal is to transform the RH Tech platform into a reference for workers and contractors in the IT market. “We want this Hub to be a reference for those who are looking for a course, for those looking for a job and for those who are recruiting professionals. The platform will be open, and companies will be able to indicate content, which will be curated by us. We will accept courses from all companies in the segment, regardless of whether they are associated with ABES. Because our objective is, above all, to remain firm in our purpose of contributing to the construction of a digital and less unequal Brazil”, he declares.
