ABES promoted this Thursday (14/03) a webinar for the launch of ABES Angels in partnership with Anjos do Brasil, an online event that was opened by Paulo Milliet Roque, president of the association, who welcomed the participants. The goal is for the ABES Angels Investment Center to work very closely with the Software and SaaS vertical of Anjos do Brasil. The center is open for membership by managers of associated companies and also for employees, who can prove their connection with the ABES associated company.
It was up to Maria Rita Spina Bueno, Advisor to Anjos do Brasil, to present the reasons that demonstrate that it is worth being an angel investor. In her explanation, she addressed the role of innovation, the definition and stages of startups and the perspectives for venture capital. “The best way for people to connect and get involved with the startup ecosystem, which is something that everyone is interested in nowadays, for different reasons, is to invest as an angel”, he highlighted. “Anjos do Brasil supports the identification of startups that have innovation, that have an incredible team, that are developing a relevant solution to a real problem, that can grow a lot in a very significant market and that have results, that can really deliver innovation”, he added. She also emphasized that the project aims to “find investors who are not just looking for money, but who will help entrepreneurs with market knowledge, with experience in organizing and running the business, with their own network of relationships”.
Flavio Levi Moreira, Head of Investments at Anjos do Brasil, presented the ABES Angels by Anjos do Brasil proposal in more detail. “Anjos is a very large network, with a series of activities, not only investment, but education, culture, mentoring, which is also a very important pillar", he spoke. He explained that every person who joins the Anjos do Brasil network can work with two approaches, basically: 1) as a mentor and on the board of startups or 2) with work focused on the investment part itself – they can choose just one of the foci or both at the same time.
Founder of Anjos do Brasil, Cassio Spina, added that his objective is to support innovative entrepreneurs through the experience of ABES members and the network of angel investors that the company has set up over the years.
