In record time, the company helps to schedule the site and integrates its online checkout system, enabling the receipt of donations via the internet in a systemic manner

VTEX, a unified commerce platform and solutions for digital retail, has become a key partner in the development of Carrefour's online operation “Publishing Solidarity”, (https://comprasolidaria.carrefour.com.br/), an initiative that transformed R$ 3,216,090.88 (half from consumers and half from the institution) into donations of food baskets to needy communities throughout Brazil. The project is part of the actions of the retail giant against the crisis caused by Covid-19.

In practice, the site offered four possibilities for donations: R$10, R$20, R$50 or an amount determined by the user. For each, Carrefour has committed to doubling the amount. Thus, customers contributed R$ 1,608,045.44 and the company with other R$ 1,608,045.44. Donations, collected between April and June this year, were transformed into food basket cards and destined for registered NGOs.

“VTEX was a key partner in the project, as it helped us not only with the programming of the donation site, but also brought all of its knowledge and expertise to online checkout, making it possible to systematically receive donations via the internet. It was also responsible for testing the entire user experience, providing us with information and recommendations to get to the best possible site for the Solidarity Purchase action”, explains Daniel Milagres, Senior Brand Manager at Carrefour.

“We were very pleased with the result of the website and, mainly, for being part of such a noble campaign at a time when all companies are seeking solidarity actions to contribute to society”, says Rafael Forte, country manager of VTEX in Brazil .
