VIA Technologies has launched the VIA Armtigo A800, the world's smallest ARM PC dedicated to embedded systems for the most diverse applications, such as hotel automation, digital signage, property security, hospitals, among others. The size of a paperback book, able to be installed on the back of a monitor, it withstands hostile environments and maintains high data processing power.

Combining Freescale ARM Cortex-A8 processors clocked at 800 MHz and two integrated GPUs, the VIA Armtigo A800 delivers low power consumption of just 3.14W TDP. The hardware does not require internal ventilation (or fanless) and is super compact (12 cm x 12.5 cm x 3 cm).

“VIA leverages its expertise in advanced SFF (Small Form Factor) design and demonstrates its leadership in the Article x86 systems market to create a new family of small, low-power ARM-based systems,” said Epan Wu, Divisional Leader VIA Embedded Platform Division. "The launch of the ARM-based Armtigo A800 allows us to offer our customers a complete range of solutions on both market-leading processor architectures."
