Veritas Technologies, one of the industry's leading companies in enterprise data protection, in collaboration with Pure Storage, the all-flash storage platform that helps innovators create a better world with data, announced a new global effort to help mutual customers to modernize data protection and maximize the value of their data for competitive advantage.

The collaboration will enable organizations to confidently consolidate modern workloads onto Pure Storage's unique data hub architecture, powered by Pure Storage FlashBlade™. With the integration of NetBackup, Veritas' flagship technology, company data can be shared, protected and unlocked to add business value.

The partnership builds on a relationship between Veritas and Pure Storage that includes joint technology adoption, product improvement, sales and support from the other party, with the companies committed to providing mutual customers with a simple, cost-effective approach to challenges. regarding data management

Data: a challenge

With the rapid growth and fragmentation of data, companies of all sizes struggle to manage, protect and gain insights from data. Modern intelligence requires technology that not only stores it, but can extract knowledge from data that is valuable and predictive in nature. Today, Veritas and Pure Storage offer data protection and fast recovery for modern workloads, while leveraging data analytics and promoting machine learning.

Powered by FlashBlade™, Pure's data hub centralizes data repositories to combine streaming analytics, backup, data lakes and artificial intelligence (AI) clusters, and drive unimaginable levels of expertise. Veritas NetBackup can protect an entire data hub architecture running on FlashBlade and can also leverage it as a backup destination, resulting in fast restores whenever needed. In addition, Veritas NetBackup, along with Veritas CloudPoint, has been integrated with Pure Storage FlashArray™, enabling integrated snapshot management through the NetBackup console. The consolidation of technologies between the two companies allows AI and machine learning to run on larger and more diverse datasets, driving greater business intelligence and potentially leading to faster innovation.

“Modern companies need to derive value from all data, regardless of where it is stored. A data hub architecture unifies data silos, which makes it easier to extract value from the massive pools that drive AI, big data and the IoT,” said Katie Colbert, vice president, Alliances, Pure Storage. "By partnering with Veritas, Pure Storage customers will leverage the benefits of NetBackup to protect their valuable data and manage their entire infrastructure through a single, unified solution."

“Massive data growth today fuels enterprise risk as data stores are isolated in silos, increasing the attack surface for malicious actors to exploit. In addition, data silos add to the complexity and cost of securing and extracting knowledge from companies' most valuable digital currencies: their data,” said David Noy, Vice President, Product Management, Veritas. "The combination of NetBackup and Pure Storage provides critical data protection, but with lightning-fast backup to allow businesses to stay one step ahead of customer expectations and needs rather than simply react to them."

Veritas and Pure Storage also help multi-cloud companies gain agility and speed with built-in snapshot-based protection to scale data across flash arrays. With the integration of Veritas' NetBackup and CloudPoint, organizations can achieve a more aggressive Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and achieve high-performance protection for their data on flash arrays. This enables customers to meet stringent RTO and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) stipulations in financial, healthcare and other verticals where data recovery and resilience are required.
