Intended to support start-ups focused on innovation, the Criatec II Fund was launched at the end of 2013, which will have committed capital of R$ 186 million, which will be invested in the shareholding of 36 companies. The BNDES contribution will be R$ 124 million.
 
The target sectors of Criatec II are: Information and Communication Technology, Agribusiness, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology and New Materials. Each company can receive a maximum of R$ 2.5 million in the first investment, and can receive subsequent investments of up to R$ 3.5 million in other investment rounds. However, the maximum amount per investee cannot exceed R$ 6 million.
 
Criatec II is expected to last 10 years. In the first four, managers will select and invest in innovative companies with annual net sales of up to R$ 10 million, obtained in the year immediately prior to the approval of the investment by the Fund.
 
Bozano Investimentos is responsible for choosing six regional managers, who will aim to implement good management and corporate governance practices in investee companies, so that they develop innovative products and processes capable of competing in the national and international markets. Regional managers will work in the following hubs: South (Porto Alegre); Southeast (SP, RJ and MG); Midwest (Brasilia); and Northeast (CE).
 
In addition to the national manager, Criatec II has the participation of Triaxis Capital, which will act as operational advisor to the fund, being responsible, together with Bozano, for the selection, hiring, training and supervision of regional managers, as well as for advising the national manager, throughout the fund's operating period, in all investment, monitoring and disinvestment processes, together with regional managers.

According to Fernando Wagner da Silva, head officer of the Criatec fund at Bozano Investimentos, as the fund has a complex organizational structure, with regional managers in the main capitals of the country, the current phase is still the internal organization and hiring of management teams. regional and final adjustments in the internal processes that will allow entrepreneurs from all over the country to submit their investment projects.
 
“In parallel with the hiring of teams of regional managers, we are developing the official logo of the fund and, more importantly, the systems that will be part of the Criatec II Portal. This portal will contain all information about the fund, as well as an online tool for entrepreneurs to submit investment projects”, explains the executive. Fundo Criatec II will also have pages on the social networks Facebook and LinkedIn, which will be launched at the same time as the fund's portal.
