The University of São Paulo (USP) inaugurated the Multiuser Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Internet of Things, on the Cidade Universitária campus, in São Paulo.
 
According to USP, the Multiuser Center for Advanced Manufacturing in the Internet of Things has state-of-the-art equipment for the development of prototypes, series heads and innovative products. The Central will be made available to the scientific community, incubated companies, startups and other scientific and business initiatives focused on innovation.
 
The creation of the laboratory is part of the National Plan for the Internet of Things of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications, which aims to accelerate the implementation of the Internet of Things as an instrument for the sustainable development of the country. In the proposed plan, four priority environments were identified: cities, health, agribusiness and industry.
 
The Multiuser Center is linked to the Interdisciplinary Center for Interactive Technologies (Citi) of the Polytechnic School (Poli) at USP, a nucleus that develops research activities to promote innovation in the context of communication and information technologies.
