“If you can imagine it, you can do it”. In line with General Electric's thinking, GE's aviation unit in Brazil, located in Petrópolis (RJ), opens registration for the InovAr Challenge, which promises to give wings to innovative projects by national and international startups. The objective will be to select the best project focused on demand planning and material forecasting in GE Aviation's maintenance shops.

Registration is free and is open until 09/06/2018 on the website www.gedesafioinovar.com.br. The prize will be R$ 38,000 or the winning startup will be able to opt for a week of immersion in innovation and mentoring for the project at the GE Research Center in New York, with travel and accommodation paid for by GE (maximum of three people).

“InovAr was created to encourage startups around the world to think of new ways and devices to improve processes, optimize time and generate less waste in activities related to aircraft engine maintenance”, says Gabriela Gomes, innovation leader at GE Celma.

The challenge is open to startups with projects in the beta stage (with prototype constituted, pilot tests) or with Minimum Viable Product. The selection process will be divided into two stages: the first will be the analysis of proposals received via the website. Subsequently, selected candidates will be invited for interviews (in person or online).

“The ability to innovate and be disruptive will differentiate companies in the future. The establishment of new partnerships, as well as the possibility of supporting and participating in the development of startups in innovation projects, which allow us to increase our competitiveness, motivated us to bet on the Innovate Challenge”, reflects Julio Talon, president of GE's aviation unit. in Brazil.
