Game developers from all over the world meet between the 24th and 26th of January at Unicamp, in Campinas (SP) for the Gamux – Global Game Jam (GGJ), an event that brings together students, aspirants and professionals from the gaming sector who seek to increase their network of relationships, get to know the market better and exchange experiences and production techniques, in addition to the opportunity to create a new title from scratch in 48 consecutive hours.

The game's theme is released simultaneously to all participating headquarters around the world, and from there, each team has 48 hours to develop a complete game inspired by that theme. All games will be published on the event's official website, where they will be available for download.

“Developing an entire game, with an often difficult theme in a time frame of just 48 hours can be quite challenging. However, it is precisely this 'mission impossible' aspect that helps reinforce the spirit of cooperation and innovation that the Global Game Jam seeks to encourage. Collaboration is present in all stages of the event, from registration, which is free, to the fact that all games will be published, not being a competition”, explains Bruno Melo, executive director of Gamux, Escola Interna de Game development at Unicamp, which is sponsored by giants such as Nokia, Blackberry and the School's own Institute of Computer Science.
