Intrusion Detection and Prevention Technology arrives in the country as the solution to monitor network traffic
In line with this context and always ahead of the market, Trend Micro announces the launch of the TippingPoint solution in Brazil, which offers a powerful network security platform and comprehensive protection against known threats and vulnerabilities as well as against threats not yet discovered. The technology acts as an Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS) and brings transparency to the network without affecting the performance or operation of the business.
TippingPoint technology was acquired by Trend Micro in late 2015 with the acquisition of HP TippingPoint – a provider of next-generation systems for intrusion prevention and network security. “Following a market demand in Brazil, which is increasingly mature in terms of cybercrime prevention, Trend Micro sees this moment as strategic for the launch of the solution in the country”, explains Marisa Travaglin, Head of Marketing Brazil at Trend Micro.
TippingPoint provides coverage across different threat vectors, including advanced threats, malware, phishing, etc. The solution uses a combination of technologies including deep packet inspection, threat reputation, URL reputation and advanced malware analysis on a foundation to detect and prevent network attacks. With the solution, companies can take a proactive approach to security to provide comprehensive contextual awareness and deeper analysis of network traffic.
Globally, the solution is already being used in several countries by clients such as MedImpact Healthcare Systems, a pharmaceutical benefits administrator in the USA; Sime Darby Berhad, a large Malaysian trading conglomerate; VakıfBank, one of Turkey's largest banks; among others. “The launch is another step by Trend Micro to support companies in Brazil in the fight against cyberattacks. Organizations must continually improve their ability to detect and respond to attacks, going beyond prevention and proactively monitoring incoming threats”, concludes Marisa.
