The metallurgical company from Rio Grande do Sul chose Vision One to have more assertiveness and speed in responding to possible cyber incidents

THE Trend Micro Brazil, a world leader in cybersecurity solutions, was chosen by Bruning Tecnometal - one of the largest companies in the metal-mechanical industry in Rio Grande do Sul – to increase protection against ransomware attacks and guarantee the confidentiality of commissioned projects.

The company from Rio Grande do Sul has 80 years of history and approximately 1.5 billion in annual revenue, resulting from the application of modern technology in stamping, machining, welding and painting processes to manufacture light, durable and efficient metal parts and assemblies. With the growth of cyberattacks, it decided to deepen its partnership with Trend Micro, adopting its XDR platform to ensure more visibility.

“Information security levels have never been so critical, which is why we opted for Vision One for greater assertiveness and speed in reacting and resolving incidents”, explains André Prado, senior IT analyst at Bruning Tecnometal. “A major differentiator of the Trend platform is the intuitive dashboards and user-friendly interface, not to mention the flexibility it has when adding several features that can be activated or not, contracted or not, at the client’s discretion”, adds André, highlighting that the tool also allows integration with other solutions.

André also highlights the important role played by the consultancy Integrasul, specialized in information security, in choosing new tools to improve the company's security posture. “Bruning was the second Trend Micro customer in Latin America to implement the Deep Discovery solution, so the partnership had already been successfully renewed for a few years”, recalls Marcelo Pacheco, CEO of Integrasul.

In addition to Vision One, when the IT sector decided to migrate servers to the cloud and create controls with multiple layers of security, the Smart Protection Suites package was also purchased, which includes: CAS (Cloud App Security), E-mail Security, Apex One with XDR for Endpoints and Workload Security for servers, as well as DLP (Data Loss Prevention), both for the security of engineering files and information exchanges in general.

“Organizations need to assess the level of maturity of risk management and plan the necessary improvements to protect their business models. In this aspect, the actions of partners are essential to help companies overcome the challenges of the accelerated digital transformation experienced in recent years”, points out Rodrigo Garcia, head of Sales at Trend Micro Brasil.
