Hybrid Cloud Solution Will Increase Protection Through DevOps Cycle

Companies create and deploy solutions faster and faster: from cloud to containers, regardless of the environment in which they are inserted. Therefore, any delay that occurs in the integration between systems development and IT operations – a process known as DevOps – can create an obstacle for the entire business.

To address this, Trend Micro Incorporated (), a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, this week announced the expansion of the scope of its Security for Hybrid Cloud solution.

The new capabilities, achieved through the acquisition of Immunio (based in Montreal, Canada) and in-house development, add to the automated protection Trend Micro is able to deliver throughout the DevOps cycle. These features will be showcased at AWS re:Invent 2017 in Las Vegas, which begins November 27 and runs through December 1.

"We are excited to acquire Immunio's application protection solutions and, as a result, to work with the company's team of application security experts and customers," says Bill McGee, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cloud Security. Trend Micro hybrid.

“With technological evolution, cloud computing and container platforms can be developed faster. The runtime of Immunio's security solutions allows our customers to expand protection against software vulnerabilities as they are being built,” says McGee.

Trend Micro is also enhancing its container-specific security features, with support for image scanning, which allows security issues to be identified and resolved before the solution is released. These features will be available in April 2018.

According to a Gartner report, “By 2019, more than 70% of enterprise DevOps initiatives will incorporate automated vulnerability security and scanning configuration analysis for open source components and commercial packages.”

With the early detection and protection against vulnerabilities brought by Immunio, and analysis of containerized images, Trend Micro's new capabilities fit perfectly into the DevOps cycle. As a result, you can count on secure, resilient applications and remarkable improvements in running operations, whether located on-premises or in the public cloud.
