THE Trend Micro recently announced the acquisition of Cloud Conformity, the Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) company. The acquisition instantly extends the cloud services that Trend Micro offers and resolves often-overlooked security issues caused by misconfigurations of cloud infrastructure.

This Trend Micro strategy was created to ensure cloud security without disrupting the agile way customers do business. This acquisition builds on Trend Micro's continued innovation in cloud security, adding complementary capabilities that automatically identify and remediate a variety of cloud infrastructure configuration issues. It also optimizes costs and helps ensure compliance with key industry regulatory standards such as PCI, GDPR, HIPAA and NIST.

According to Gartner, “By 2023, at least 99% of security breaches in the cloud will be customer fault.” Gartner also states that: “By 2024, organizations that implement a CSPM offering and extend this strategy to development will reduce cloud-related security incidents due to misconfiguration by 80%.” Trend Micro's comprehensive suite of cloud security services provides assurance that risks are managed effectively and meet compliance standards.

"We've focused on building integrated security for the cloud since its birth over a decade ago, unlike other vendors who are now trying to bring different technologies together," said Eva Chen, CEO of Trend Micro. "As more companies move to the cloud, our customers feel they are operating amidst a wild environment for cloud deployments, leaving them with unmanaged risk. As Technology Partner of the Year for AWS in 2019, the Cloud Conformity understands these implementations and risks. Their offering perfectly complements our own portfolio and adds immediate value to customers. Both teams and technology are great complements for Trend Micro."

For Trend Micro, collaborators are as important as technology in this acquisition, so it plans to unify all Cloud Conformity employees, who will bring valuable experience and expertise, along with technology, to help companies build on the cloud. more efficiently and not just safely.

"We are excited about the opportunities that will be part of the leading cloud security provider – extending what we do best, while allowing our offerings to grow in ways we could not have achieved on our own," said Michael Watts, co-founder and CEO of Cloud Conformity. . "We believe customers will love this streamlined approach to security and compliance across the entire cloud environment, including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud – providing security barriers to move faster and do more."
