The program will last four months with the objective of promoting technical and behavioral training to support the professional and personal development of the participants.
TOTVS, the largest technology company in Brazil, announces the launch of Start Tech, a program that aims to increase the employability of young people in situations of social vulnerability in the technology market. The initiative is aimed at former students of the Web development of the Instituto de Oportunidade Social (IOS), a non-profit institution founded by TOTVS and supported by the private sector that offers training in technology to young people in socially vulnerable situations and people with disabilities.
With content made available by IOS itself, by the TOTVS University – the company's corporate university – and by LetsCode by Ada, Start Tech aims to improve the technical training of young people in technology, in addition to improving skills and abilities to leverage the careers of young people, leaving them those even more prepared for the job market.

“Today, there is still little opportunity for young people in the technology market, especially those in situations of social vulnerability. This is because many positions, even at a technical level, require some experience in the area. Start Tech is precisely this bridge between students seeking training in technology and practical experience in the daily life of a company in the sector. The program not only increases the number of young people technically prepared to work in this market, but also increases their employability through the behavioral training offered”, explains Izabel Branco, vice president of Human Relations at TOTVS.
The activities begin on October 31, lasting four months. The first edition of the program will have a group of 25 participants, including young people from São Paulo (SP) and Joinville (SC). The program consists of five distinct premises: full-time face-to-face classes at TOTVS from Monday to Thursday; complementary studies on Friday mornings; monitoring and support with a monitor in the classroom, HR support and even the support of a TOTVS sponsor.
Start Tech's face-to-face classes will be divided so that students can receive the inputs for their technical and personal training in a balanced way. On Mondays and Wednesdays the focus is on technology, with courses in development, programming and database. On Tuesdays, content related to behavior, career, agility and business will be taught. On Thursdays, students participate in practical classes at TOTVS, in the work area of their sponsors, to follow the work routine. And Friday is the day dedicated to complementary studies.
Participants also receive food stamps and transportation vouchers, certification and professional referrals, since the idea is that, at the end of the program, talents will be absorbed by the TOTVS ecosystem, both for internal vacancies, franchises, channels and even customers.
The evolution of students will be measured through monitoring and reports developed by monitors and sponsors.
