The brand and credit card administrator relied on TIVIT as a partner to migrate its infrastructure to the AWS public cloud

TIVIT, a Brazilian technology multinational, was responsible for supporting Credz, a credit card administrator in partnership with retail chains, to have a fully functional and scalable infrastructure during the year-end shopping period – Black Friday and Christmas - with a 27-day migration to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) public cloud.

Credz's challenge began after closing a partnership with a major credit card brand. With that, their numbers increased exponentially, and worries started. "There came a point where our infrastructure could no longer support the environment in which we operated. During 2019 we increased the number of transactions by three times compared to 2018", says Gilberto Baldini, Digital Solutions Manager at Credz. The solution would be to migrate part of your legacy to a cloud operation. "We had a goal of being in a public cloud environment before Black Friday," says Baldini.

With support from TIVIT, Credz's infrastructure was migrated to the AWS public cloud. The company was responsible for delivering a redundant and scalable environment, with the financial management and governance of the entire Credz cloud environment.

The AWS cloud migration journey was permanently supported by a TIVIT team in an operating room set up at Credz headquarters. "We set up a real squadron. The professionals took care of the operation in the previous environment and set up the new one in the AWS cloud. Without the TIVIT technicians, this would not have been possible", says Baldini. "This support provides security for the continuity of the work."

The migration led to Credz benefits such as optimization of the operating environment, cost reduction and scalability. During the year-end purchasing period, Credz saw its operation running smoothly despite growing demand for infrastructure. Year-end dates generated four times the demand. The migration supported an expansion from 111 retail chains to the current 392 chains that bring together almost 4000 stores. Another improvement observed by Credz was in relation to the stability of its service, which has not experienced intermittent or outages since the adoption of the public cloud.

"Credz's migration brought a challenging component: the work had to be completed in less than a month due to the proximity of Black Friday, a date with high infrastructure demand. TIVIT supported the entire migration journey and ensured an infrastructure fully functional during this high end-of-the-year shopping period. Nothing could go wrong so as not to bring frustration and bad experiences both to Credz's partner retail chains and to consumers preparing their purchases", says André Frederico, Executive Director & Head of Cloud Solutions at TIVIT.

Credz's journey has combined TIVIT's traditional experience in mission-critical environments with reference work in migrating applications to the cloud, with the flexibility and agility to solve strategic business problems in the age of digital transformation. TIVIT accompanied Credz throughout the journey: from a consultative relationship to defining the architecture and estimating costs, through migration to managing services already in the cloud.
