Tivit, an integrated technology services company, has just acquired the Work Image Group (WI), specialized in electronic document management. This acquisition is part of its growth strategy on three fronts: the expansion and reinforcement of the back office service portfolio; the incorporation of a differentiated system for electronic document management services and, finally, the expansion of the company to regions of the country with potential for new business, such as the city of Porto Alegre (RS).

The incorporation of the Work Image Group, formed by the companies Work Image and Work File, immediately adds 600 new clients to the company, as well as more than 400 employees. All seven units of the group will be maintained for the operational continuity of services.

"We have identified many complementarities in this acquisition. It is increasingly interesting for TIVIT to adopt a strategy of cross sell. In turn, our clients will have an excellent portfolio of document management solutions ", says André Frederico, director of Corporate Development at TIVIT.

Document management services range from organizing, preparing and digitizing the document to making the digital file available on the Internet and will continue to be marketed under the TIVIT Work Image brand. In all, more than 50 million documents are managed, including 500 thousand Human Resources records. In 2014, the expectation is that the document management offer will reach a gross revenue of R$ 30 million.

The Brazilian Association of Document Management Companies (ABGD) estimates that typically active files grow at the rate of 25% per year and their management significantly impacts a company's cost generation. The digitization of documents is an irreversible trend in the market due to factors such as the need to reduce the physical space used in paper storage, the importance of having greater control over business information and the possibility of having an intelligent data search that can better support the decision-making of company managers.

Trustwave announces acquisition of Cenzic

Trustwave announced the purchase of Cenzic, a security technology company in Silicon Valley that offers cloud application protection for more than 500,000 business and e-commerce applications. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition will make it possible to combine Cenzic's dynamic application testing technology with Trustwave's cloud solutions aimed at scanning services and penetration testing in networks and databases.

Based on a patented technology with the brand Hailstorm "(or hail storm, free translation), Cenzic's solutions continuously monitor cloud applications and mobile applications to identify their vulnerabilities.

As a result of the acquisition, Trustwave now offers the market both static and dynamic security tests, which are delivered in an integrated manner as signed services, ensuring protection for the entire application life cycle.

"This acquisition brings together two security leaders who understand automation and know how to strengthen threat management with the levels of aggressiveness and evasiveness that are seen today," says Robert McCullen, Chairman and CEO of Trustwave.

According to Jarrett Benavidez, director of Trustwave for Latin America, by absorbing Cenzic's technology, Trustwave becomes even stronger with segments of the market that are investing in BYOD platforms or that do business involving e-commerce or applications in a cloud. "The tendency of Latin American companies and governments towards these types of environment is very striking and there is no other offer in the region that covers as many aspects of security and combating risk as ours," says Benavidez.

The application testing market is undergoing rapid changes, requiring the association of static and dynamic tests in the same solution, as shown by a recent report on security application testing, released by Trustwave.

Static application testing (SAS) examines out-of-execution applications by analyzing binary code sources - which is almost always the case before a business-critical application is launched. Dynamic application tests (DST) are oriented towards the continuous testing of applications in full execution, in search of active vulnerabilities throughout the process.
