InfoWatch, one of the leading global providers of data loss prevention (DLP) systems, announces the start of its operations in Brazil through trading partners. The country is the first in Latin America to have representation of the company that operates in more than 50% of the Russian information security market. Pars (Sonos Group) and Esyword are the companies authorized to sell the products in the Brazilian market.

With ten years of experience in the Russian DLP market, InfoWatch intends to grow in the Latin American market, starting from the operation in Brazil. "We are ready to expand because we know that our solutions are perfectly aligned with local customer demand," says Andrey Sokurenko, the company's Director of Development and Business. According to a recent analysis by the Ponemon Institute ("2013 Cost of Data Breach Study: Global Analysis"), companies based in Brazil spend, on average, R$ 793 million per year to repair losses, while investing only R$ 117 million to protect information.

In 23% of the cases, hacker attacks occur, while in 35% there is system failure and in the other 42%, employees are blamed for the leaks. For Sokurenko, the solution is to review the data protection strategy. "The DLP market in Brazil and Latin America, in general, is at an early stage. There are still no strict data protection laws, but the Brazilian government pays close attention to the issue and guides companies, especially those in the financial sector" .

In Brazil, companies interested in protecting their information have at their disposal two tools launched by InfoWatch on the international market: InfoWatch Traffic Monitor Enterprise, a software solution (DLP system) designed to monitor information flows, protect confidential information from leaks and authorized; and Infowatch Endpoint Security, software that provides information security for workstations, removable media and mobile devices, designed for rapid deployment and ease of management.
