Artificial intelligence and data analysis in the fight against urban violence in cities in São Paulo

In dozens of cities, a new reality is emerging in the fight against crime. After the installation of the Muralha Digital Sentry platform, violence rates are beginning to decline consistently. This innovative system, developed by Multiway, uses artificial intelligence and data analysis to monitor vehicle traffic and identify suspicious patterns, acting as a true technological shield for public safety. The results are remarkable, with the platform already present in more than 130 municipalities in 16 states and 9 capitals, integrating more than 8,400 OCR cameras and processing billions of vehicle tickets annually.

The principle is clear: crime moves on wheels, and the Sentry platform intercepts this movement, transforming urban security.

Americana: Technology at the Service of Public Safety

With a population of 237,240 (2022 Census), Americana, in the interior of São Paulo, is a clear example of how investment in technology can transform public safety. The Security and Intelligence Center (CSI) of the Americana Municipal Guard (Gama) completed one year of operation with impressive results.

The Americana CSI has become a national benchmark in video surveillance. Data from the São Paulo State Department of Public Security reveals a significant drop in crime rates: in the first five months of 2025, vehicle thefts fell by 36% compared to the same period the previous year, and vehicle thefts fell by 20.2%.

The system features more than 343 cameras in public buildings, squares, and streets, as well as 135 smart cameras (OCR) strategically installed at all city entrances and exits. In just 12 months, this technological infrastructure has contributed to the recovery of 110 stolen or robbed vehicles and the arrest of 110 wanted individuals.

The commander of the Americana Municipal Guard, Marco Aurélio da Silva, highlights the efficiency and scope of the Digital Sentry Wall: "The city has become a reference in terms of the Digital Wall and the Security and Intelligence Center, and the population benefits from a city that is certainly safer."

The Digital Sentry Wall has attracted the attention of other Brazilian municipalities, such as Petrolina (PE), Guaxupé (MG), and Macaé (RJ), which sent representatives to tour the facility during this period. The unit also received a delegation from California (USA). The visits were prompted by the drop in crime rates.

Help: Enhanced Security and a Sense of Tranquility

With a population of 40,122 (2022 Census), Estância de Socorro, also in the interior of São Paulo, has consolidated its crime reduction and reinforced its residents' sense of security. From April to May 2025, the city recorded significant drops in key crime rates compared to the same period in 2024.

The results are the fruit of coordinated work between local security forces and continuous investment in technology, prevention, and territorial presence. The municipal administration's strategic vision is confirmed by Bruno Tadeu Prado Baldo, Secretary of Security and Citizen Defense, who defines technology as a central pillar of this transformation.

"The implementation of Sentry's Digital Wall has been a game-changer for public safety in our municipality," says the secretary. "This technological solution has allowed us to integrate surveillance cameras, real-time data analysis, and artificial intelligence, significantly increasing our crime prevention and response capabilities. With the system, we've been able to identify several suspicious vehicles, preventing incidents before they happen."

This effectiveness is directly reflected in the numbers. Among the most relevant data, the following reductions stand out:

* Vehicle thefts: 83%

* Various thefts: 55%

* Robberies: 50%

* Intentional bodily harm: 13%

Baldo also highlights the tool's operational impact: "The integration with local security forces has optimized the teams' work, enabling faster and more efficient incident response. Without a doubt, this tool has been essential in transforming the city's security system into a smarter and more effective model."

The Socorro case demonstrates that strategic planning, combined with the intelligent use of resources and integration between institutions, generates concrete results in public safety, ensuring the tranquility and well-being of the population.

The Future of Public Safety is Smart

The examples of Americana and Socorro, among the more than 130 cities already using the Sentry Digital Wall, demonstrate the technology's potential to transform public safety in Brazil. The Sentry platform not only helps reduce crime rates but also strengthens the population's sense of security, fostering a more peaceful environment conducive to development.

With the continued evolution of artificial intelligence and data analytics, solutions like the Sentry platform are expected to become increasingly prevalent and indispensable for cities seeking to combat violence effectively and innovatively. The Sentry Digital Wall is a strategic tool that empowers law enforcement and protects citizens, building a safer future for all.31
