Robbiot, a startup that works with the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT), created an ecosystem of multinational companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), Artimar and Durannio, to ensure the protection of worker's life in hazardous environments. through wearables, Big Data and analytical tools for accident prevention.

The development of safety systems at work with Internet of Things technologies is a necessity, according to data from the Ministry of Labor. In 2015, for example, there were more than 850 stoppages of industrial plants due to threats to the integrity of workers, causing great losses. The industry has many challenges in creating value with its products while protecting its employees, the community and its assets. To overcome this challenge with the Industrial Internet of Things, it is necessary to use resilient and high-level professional systems and equipment.

“The Internet of Things in a mission-critical industrial environment demands a robust technology ecosystem different from applications for mass IoT”, says Roberto Williams, CEO of Robbiot. "Robbiot has structured an ecosystem of strategic partners like Microsoft to address industry-specific needs in risky operations."

Integration of strategic partners

“Microsoft is a technology platform and services company. To deliver this value-added offering to our customers, we need innovative partners like Robbiot. We are proud to have the adoption of our cloud in this critical IoT project and for contributing more and more to the development of this type of technology”, comments Richard Chaves, Director of Innovation and New Products at Microsoft in Brazil.

As industry moves into the fourth wave of the industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) opportunities arise to take your operations to an unprecedented level of efficiency and safety. Robbiot implemented its turnkey solution in one of the most critical environments for IoT development: Mining. It used the Azure platform for this, supporting the development of Big Data and cloud analytics to provide important insights into the risks present in large operations with advanced features such as artificial intelligence, data visualization and integration with corporate applications.

Communication takes place using LoRa technology, provided by Artimar, using Industrial IoT hardware designed by Durannio with state-of-the-art Intel products.
With the challenge of protecting the wearable from hacker attacks, Giesecke & Devrient performed the provisioning of devices through its encryption key management platform.

Robbiot is a mission-critical industrial IoT startup, with solutions for safety at work in various verticals such as mining, O&G, construction and chemical industries. Operating in Brazil and Canada, Robbiot has been improving the safety of employees in risky operations. More information about the partnership between Microsoft and Robbiot will be shared in a case study of worker safety using the Internet of Things. More information: http://www.robbiot.com/.
