Startup Farm, elected this year as the best accelerator in the country by the Startup Awards, has opened applications for the 6th edition of its acceleration program, Ahead. Sponsored by Visa and Baptista Luz Advogados, the program's edition is aimed at startups in all segments, but one of the focuses is to search for startups that are revolutionizing the health sector.

Startup Farm is also part of the Google for Entrepreneurs network, the Google team responsible for initiatives to promote the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the world. Over 6 years, there were more than 270 accelerated startups, US$ 100 million investments raised and six portfolio companies acquired.

Major cases in the health field, such as Hoobox Robotics, have already gone through the program, which develops technology to recognize facial expressions, used as commands for the movement of wheelchairs and for the monitoring of human behavior. The company was recently the only startup selected to be part of the Johnson & Johnson Innovation program at JLABS, which is located in the United States.

In addition to Hoobox, it also went through the Startup Farm program, Bright Photomedicine, which develops health technologies based on photomedicine, Pocket Health Lab, which created a highly compact device that, connected to a smartphone, records all the measurement data of the diabetes and Vittude, a platform that connects psychologists and patients.

All editions have a wide network of mentors, investors and market experts. The program will select up to 10 startups to spend 6 months at an accelerating pace. “We see more and more innovative solutions for the health sector impacting society as a whole. We want to support founders of high potential to develop startups that will transform the market in which they are operating ", explains Alvaro Machado, COO of Startup Farm.

Registrations can be made until December 17th through the website: http://aceleracao.startupfarm.com.br

The program consists of three stages:

Laser focus - 5 weeks in person at Startup Farm headquarters on Google's São Paulo Campus. It is a “full-life” Immersion for the founders to work focused on building their startup's business model, supported by Farm and a wide network of mentors, partners and investors.

Get Sales Done - 5 weeks later: in this module the startup will work on building a sales strategy and will define the main performance metrics for your business. The module can be done remotely.

Fundraising - last 15 weeks: the startup will build an initial projection of capital needs and define the best funding strategy. Throughout this module the startup will continue to work on product and / or service development and will also continue to improve its performance metrics with the monitoring of Startup Farm. The module can be done remotely.

After going through all these steps, startups will be able to present themselves to a panel of investors and executives from large corporations for the program's most anticipated event - the “Demo Day”. Startup Farm may invest up to R$ 150 thousand for a percentage of the business to be defined according to the valuation in the next round of investment. In addition, accelerated startups will also have access to USD700mil in benefits from partner companies and work tools.
