Startup Farm, one of the most experienced accelerators in Latin America, has opened registration for the second edition of ahead. Sponsored by Visa, IBM and Baptista Luz Advogados, this edition of the program is aimed at startups from all segments, who can apply until January 29, 2017.

The startups chosen for Ahead will go through a process that will last approximately 6 months and will have three acceleration phases with specific focuses:

laser focus – in person at Google's São Paulo Campus, from March 25 to April 29: "Full life" immersion for founders to work focused on building the startup's business model, supported by Farm and a wide network of mentors, partners and investors.

Get Sales Done – 5 weeks later: in this module, the startup will work on building a sales strategy and define the main performance metrics of its business.

Fundraising – last 15 weeks: the startup will build an initial projection of capital needs, as well as work on defining the best funding strategy. Throughout this module, the startup will continue to work on developing the product and/or service, as well as improving its performance metrics with Startup Farm monitoring.

Once the three modules are completed, the startup will be qualified for the Demo Day, an event in which entrepreneurs present their projects to investors and executives of large companies.

As of 2017, this event will be aimed at an audience of investors interested in investing tickets between R$ 300 thousand and R$ 1 million. The Demo Day will not fail to have the function of presenting the accelerated businesses to the ecosystem as a whole.

Another important characteristic is the format of the investment. Startup Farm will make a financial and economic investment: in financial terms, Farm will be able to invest up to R$ 150 thousand for a percentage of the business to be defined according to the startup's valuation in the next round of investment. The higher the valuation, the lower the Farm's %. The economic investment will be made considering the program itself, access to the network of contacts, partner benefits, access to large companies, coworking space and visibility for accelerated businesses. For this investment by Startup Farm, the selected company will transfer 5% of equity.
