Registrations for the first stage can be made until July 14

 
 
The Secretary of Informatics Policy of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Information (Sepin / MCTI), Virgílio Almeida, and representatives of the Start-Up Brasil program launched on May 27, in São Paulo, the public notice for the selection of 100 startups , divided into two stages.
 
The first includes 50 startups, with 75% of vacancies destined for Brazilian companies and 25% for international companies. Registrations are open until July 14th and can be made through the website: www.startupbrasil.org.br. The second phase will also select 50 startups, along the same lines, and the schedule will start in the second semester, at a date to be defined.
 
Start-Up Brasil, which is part of the TI Maior program, is an MCTI initiative in partnership with accelerators and aims to support nascent technology-based companies (startups) that fulfill the function of revitalizing the market, developing products and services with economic viability- financial.
 
Companies with up to four years of constitution (CNPJ issuance) can apply. The target audience was also expanded: “For the first time, companies that adopt innovative hardware solutions will also have the possibility to participate in Start-Up Brasil. Until then, only software solutions were contemplated ”, said Virgilio.
 
After registration closes on 7/14/14, projects will be evaluated by a panel composed of representatives from universities, researchers, MCTI members and representatives from the private sector.
 
With the disclosure of the results and the announcement of the selected startups, the relationship between entrepreneurs and accelerators begins - the moment when the startup chooses the accelerator that will be its partner in the development of the business.
 
Then, the process of accelerating and releasing resources begins. The Start-Up Brasil program will transfer up to R$ 200 thousand for each startup to develop the projects presented. This value can be complemented by accelerators, without intermediation from the ministry.
