Of the 140 students trained by the Association since 2015, 90 won a job opportunity

THE Specialisterne, a social organization that aims to train people with high functioning autism (Asperger's) with a view to professional inclusion in large companies, recently launched the Maintainers Program, whose purpose is to raise funds so that the Association can continue offering its four-month course free of charge. Supported by ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies), Specialisterne currently has four goals with this program, starting with the objective of raising R$ 4,000 and training a person with autism and reaching R$ 40,000, a value with which they would be able to train 12 people.

Since it started operating in Brazil in 2015, Specialisterne has trained 140 people, 90 of whom have had an opportunity in the job market, representing a rate of almost 75% for professional inclusion. This year, the social organization participated in the SDGs in Brazil (Sustainable Development Goals), an event organized by the Global Compact Brazil Network at the United Nations headquarters in New York, ranking first in the ODS Global Compact Award, Small and Medium Enterprises category - Partnerships axis.

“This moment was an important recognition of the project and commitment that we have in valuing and including neurodiversity in a very necessary area, which is the job market. As we want to keep our unit in São Paulo free, including more people with autism in access to education, training and professional inclusion, achievements like this, which recognize our work, are fundamental ”, celebrates Marcelo Vitoriano, General Director of Specialisterne.

In addition to the Maintainers program, the Association also has the help of partnerships with companies to finance part of the training and with other organizations that provide a job opportunity for our graduates. During inclusion, the Specialisterne technical team monitors the professional's development, to understand what types of tasks he is performing and whether they are compatible with his area of interest and motivation, and also to ensure that all necessary support is made available so that it is in fact included in the company.
