Entries are now open for the 2nd SP Conecta, which brings together the most important innovation support agents in the State of São Paulo to serve startups free of charge at the headquarters of Investe São Paulo.

The program runs from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on the 31st of August with more than 40 entities for connection, panels and lectures. The day goes on with Brazilian regional stage of Startup Worldcup 2018 in the afternoon. Registration is free on the website. and limited spaces.

This is already the second edition of the event, which in 2016 had the presence of 40 exhibitors and more than 600 people – an audience that should be surpassed in 2017. The new version brings a greater focus on business internationalization, with the presence of several chambers of commerce and foreign diplomatic organizations that are interested in developing joint actions with Brazilian entrepreneurs.

“We have heard a lot about the importance of having created an action that brings together the entrepreneurial community of the State in a simple and direct way, favoring new ideas and leveraging business. It is a unique opportunity”, says Sérgio Costa, director of Investe SP. The Investment and Export Promotion Agency is linked to the Department of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation of the State of São Paulo.

Another novelty for this year is the StartupWorld Cup, which will open its 2018 edition in Brazil. The global competition evaluates startups of any segment around the world in regionals that culminate in a final in Silicon Valley, where the winner receives a prize of one million dollars and mentoring. Organized and financed by Fenox Venture Capital, the event will have its Brazilian regional office at Investe SP headquarters shortly after SP Conecta, at 2:30 pm.

“We need to make it easier for more startups to be born with the aim of competing in international markets. In addition, we want entrepreneurs to learn about the programs and support that organizations present in the State of São Paulo can offer. In this sense, the event and the SP Conecta map are available for our State to grow in the international rankings of the startup ecosystem”, says Franklin Ribeiro, Investment manager at Agência Paulista.

The deputy governor and secretary of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation of the State Márcio França praised the initiative: “Investe São Paulo is once again fulfilling its role of reducing distances between public and private entities, combining interests and favoring the economic development – this time through the revolution that startups have been”.

About SP Connect
SP Conecta was created from the need to establish new connections between entrepreneurs, incubators, accelerators, academics, associations and governments to accelerate the development of startups in São Paulo. In addition, it is intended to bring startups closer to large companies and innovative corporations.

The more than 40 participating players will be available to answer questions, guide or even offer their services to entrepreneurs. Among them will be companies that adopt open innovation, accelerators, incubators, financiers, research institutes, business and class associations and the government itself. Thus, these institutions will be able to show their services and programs in an individualized way.

In 2016, the action also resulted in the creation of the Map SP Conecta, a collaborative tool where innovation support institutions register their information and make it easier for those who need it to find it.
