The Sorocaba Technological Park (PTS), in partnership with Sebrae-SP, promotes for the second time in the interior of São Paulo the Startup SP, a startup development program that offers free training for digital startups in Sorocaba and region.

This year, organizers expect around 50 projects to be enrolled in the program. At the end of the selection process, the 10 chosen startups will receive support from the program for four months to validate the value proposition of their business and gain market acceptance. In addition to the workshops and monitoring of business development, Startup SP will also promote the connection of those selected with investors and accelerators.

Among the contents worked during the program are entrepreneurial behavior, business modeling, validation, market testing, sales, digital marketing and investment capture.

Registrations

To ensure better performance of those selected during the program, the Technological Park of Sorocaba has set some criteria for participation: having a team of at least two people; availability to participate in all programming; the registered business must be digital and the startup must be validating the product or service.

Registration to participate in Startup SP is free and can be done until March 10th through the link www.f6s.com/startupsp-sebraesorocaba. Full program information is also available on the website.

example of success

In the first edition of the event, held last year, 52 projects were registered, among them the Hangarar – a digital platform for searching and scheduling services in the aeronautical area, aimed at private aircraft operators.

One of the company's founders, Danilo Plens de Araújo, 24, told how Startup SP boosted his project. “In the beginning we were apprehensive, as the idea was still very immature, but the evaluation team took a chance on our initiative and helped us implement it. Today we already have fixed customers and we are working to reach the entire Southeast Region of Brazil in a short time”, he said.

The president of the Technological Park of Sorocaba, Roberto Freitas, encourages the participation of young people. “Currently, the entrepreneur is discovering himself earlier and earlier, and our purpose is to support great ideas and encourage the formation of new businesses and innovative services, highlighting the potential of the community of Sorocaba and region”, he said.

Startup Night

To launch the program in the region, the Technological Park of Sorocaba will promote on March 10, at 7 pm, an integration between the judge of the game show Shark Tank, Camila Farani – president of one of the largest investment groups in startup companies in Brazil, o Gávea Angels – with subscribers, entrepreneurs and university students from the interior of SP.

With the theme “How to prepare your startup to win a Shark”, the lecture will have free admission and limited spaces. Entries must be made through the website http://app.tecevents.net/#!section=19552871.

'Shark' is the name given to the judges of the famous American game show series 'Shark Tank'. In the game, entrepreneurs present their business ideas to potential investors in order to obtain funding.

“There couldn't be a better name to talk to our students and young entrepreneurs about the challenges and steps towards a successful business. Camila is a reference when it comes to the development of startups and her arrival will be enriching for the city”, highlighted Nelson Cancellara, executive director of Inova Sorocaba, administrator of the Technological Park of Sorocaba.
