The project provided Santher with more security, GDPR compliance, and teams trained to manage Microsoft 365 security features

Santher is one of the largest companies in the world in paper production capacity. Founded eight decades ago, it is a Brazilian company that manufactures paper for personal care and use in corporate environments.

The industry produces more than 180 thousand tons of paper annually, standing out as one of the largest organizations in the segment in the world in terms of production capacity. Santher serves more than 13 million Brazilian homes with products in the segments of toiletry, paper towels, napkins, diapers and absorbents.

In 2020, the organization identified an even greater need for digital defense of this information. One of the main reasons was the beginning of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), which came into force in Brazil and made it essential for companies to adapt to prevent the leakage of sensitive data.

Goals

In the same year, Santher set the objective of obtaining ISO 9001 certification, an international reference for Information Security management. But when starting the cybersecurity and compliance project, Santher found it very difficult to find several answers: what software and tools could contribute to this mission? How would employees be technically trained? And where to start?

Given this, Solo Network joined the project and supported Santher in all phases. Starting with the project with a cybersecurity assessment, in which all Microsoft products contracted by Santher were analyzed, to identify the most adherent solutions and the need for other contracts to strengthen the implementation.

After the initial stage, Solo Network specialists, together with Santher, defined which solutions would be used to unite the two main fronts of this project: information security and compliance with the LGPD. The chosen products supported the contractor in protecting sensitive data, restricting confidential information to be shared without authorization by employees, and categorizing confidential and public information, in addition to various procedures.

“Elaborating this project together was a great differentiator. We at Solo Network believe in customized solutions, because only then will we be able to meet the needs of the client's business, with the services they need to meet the growing demand for innovation and adaptation to new laws", points out Audreyn Justus, Marketing Director at Solo Network.

The cybersecurity project for Santher also had a strong concern with the qualification of employees who will use these tools in the coming months. In the post-sales stage, Solo Network supported the entire process of implementation and training of the internal technology team, in this way, Santher entered 2021 prepared to put into practice the processes of adaptation to the new Brazilian General Data Protection Law and following all the requirements of ISO 9001.

Results of

The results of this project are diverse, but among them are the knowledge and full use of security solutions, an environment in compliance with the LGPD, and teams trained to manage the security features of Microsoft 365. In addition, the development and implementation of the project in record time, ensuring that the customer was compliant with the LGPD one month before the law came into force, and all the thousands of information transmitted by the company's SAC distributors are now fully compliant with the LGPD.

“The Information Security project was essential for us to adapt to the LGPD, but that was not the only objective. We developed the work, in partnership with Solo Network, so that our operations were in compliance with ISO 9001”, said Leandro de Oliveira, executive manager of Information Technology at Santher. “Solo's work was fundamental, as it helped us to identify several opportunities for improvement without the need to invest more for it and, once again, Microsoft proved to be a partner we can trust to meet the most advanced security needs”, concludes Oliveira. .
