Company launched version 3.9 of Maker that adds agility and productivity to programmingto

The use of computers that learn and interact with the environment and people due to the advancement of cognitive computing is no longer a bet for the future. This is already a reality, at least, for Softwell Solutions, a company located in the Parque Tecnológico da Bahia, which recently signed a worldwide partnership with IBM to use Watson in the development of software and applications with version 3.9 of Maker.

The ABES portal interviewed Adriano Bezerra Barbosa, Services and Relationship Manager at the company, graduated in Computer Science, about Softwell's projects and the perspectives of these new technologies, with cognitive capacities similar to those of the human brain, in software development and in corporate business.

Softwell operates throughout the Brazilian territory, in addition to having a subsidiary in Portugal, also in the Technological Park, to directly support the company's operations in Europe.

“In version 3.9 of Maker, the big news is the cognitive computing integrated 100% to the solutions developed with the technology, so IBM Watson comes with cognitiveness and Maker comes with productivity. Maker licenses exist on all continents and the trend is that the expansion will be even greater, after the worldwide partnership with IBM”, Pointed out Barbosa. Follow more details of the interview below:

What is cognitive computing?
It is the ability of computers to think (almost) equal to human beings. Through the theory of learning, systems will be able to interact without the need for human intervention to perform tasks / routines / processes of the company. With Maker and Cognitive Computing, systems are able to understand data, learn and reason from that data. Combinatory analyzes, image processing, audio and text processing are carried out simply and effectively.

What impacts does cognitive computing have on the IT universe? And for companies?
Before the emergence of cognitive computing, systems were always based on programming, that is, they responded to predefined commands according to a logic, but with cognitive computing this scenario will be completely different. It is now possible to use superintelligent computers, such as IBM Watson, to process information and make decisions based on learning from previous experiences, similar to the way the human brain works. With this type of technology, companies will be able to fully reinvent their products to meet the demands of an extremely demanding market that is always changing.

What markets does Softwell Solutions hope to conquer through this partnership with IBM?
Through the worldwide partnership with IBM for the use of Watson's Cognitive Computing, combined with the high degree of innovation of the Maker ALL tool, it will be possible to reach markets never reached by “conventional” technology and, just as important as reaching new markets, will be to modify meaningfully and systematically the markets already reached through systems that can think, learn, feel and interact.

What are the differentials of MAKER 3.9?
The Maker tool is an integrated RAD platform for developing web and mobile applications, 100% visual and without lines of code, its rules are developed through flowcharts, which allows the professional to have his attention focused on business rules without to worry about lines of code, that way it is possible to achieve productivity up to 60 times faster than market solutions with the same objective.

In the web environment, Maker is capable of producing software with Java or .NET technology, in addition to being compatible with the main market databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Firebird, PostgreSQL, DB2, among others. In the Mobile environment, the solutions are compatible with both the Android and iOS environments.

The Maker has a repository of ready-made functionality that streamlines the way systems are produced and, combined with interactive and visual development, allows agility in the development process and quality of the product generated. Among the various ready-made functionalities that the tool brings, it is worth mentioning the following: authentication control, users and access permissions in an integrated 100%; templates with distinct visual patterns and fully customizable; a function API with more than 840 ready-to-use features, among others.

About Softwell

THE Softwell was born from a bold and innovative idea to simplify the software development methodology hitherto based on lines of code. Through the challenge of delivering systems with quality and on time, Softwell created a methodology to develop systems with Maker, with flowcharts. This methodology makes it possible to reach productivity levels up to 60 times faster than other market technologies.

Softwell always works with the technology of which it is a manufacturer, the Maker. In 2011 Maker Mobile was launched with a focus on solutions for mobile devices, also built without the need to implement lines of code, it is possible to develop just one application and make it available in Apple and Google stores, without the need to build two applications, as traditionally it is done. Thus, with the same team it is possible to deliver different solutions for each platform.
