Software AG announces the launch of its digital assessment solution, which allows, in a simple and agile way, to visualize how companies are preparing for the digital transformation and the results obtained make it possible to compare the progress of these companies with others in the market. After this review, users will have access to the study “Energize Your Digital Transformation: Seven Disciplines to Support Successful Digital Strategy”, conducted by Forrester and commissioned by Software AG.

The Forrester study specifically focuses on how IT teams prioritize and optimize seven specific disciplines to enable them to execute their strategies. Conducting in-depth research with 223 industry professionals, the institution found that these seven practices positively correlate with many elements of success – from readiness and vision for digital transformation to high revenue growth.

Some of the main findings of the study include:

· 75% manufacturers claim customer experience is a high or critical priority, but only 25% are prepared to respond in real-time to risks and opportunities associated with customers' digital experience;
· 67% from retailers say business operation efficiency is a high or critical priority, but even then only 27% are optimized;
· 64% from banks say optimizing the communication of their branch network is a critical or high priority, but only 19% is improving the control, automation and orchestration of the multiple processes that this branch network requires.

Organizations are embracing transformation as a way to evolve digital businesses. However, the poor integration of technology, people and processes is hampering efforts for digital transformation. The Forrester study found that IT companies are finding it difficult to balance their priorities, as nearly a third of respondents cite that balancing their competitive priorities is a challenge they must overcome in their digital revolution process. Forrester also discovered a disconnect between companies' understanding of what it takes to transform and their actual ability to act. In contrast to this data, the survey found that 52% of organizations with a digital strategy had revenue growth of more than 5% year over year.

Seven essential practices of digital transformation

Based on its research and customer experience, Software AG believes that successful pioneers in digital transformation are guided by seven essential practices:

1. Transformation - with simplified and orchestrated processes from multiple systems;

2. Integration - consistent connectivity across all IT operations;

3.Date - expansion of data models across numerous systems;

4.Visibility - a real-time understanding of the business as a whole, which allows quick responses to challenges and opportunities;

5.Applications - control and automation of processes that cover different applications and systems;

6. Scalability - leverage Big Data to print business benefits from processes that are driven by complex analytics;

7.Connectivity - easy data sharing both internally and externally to drive efficiency.

Using Software AG's digital assessment solution, companies can identify which of these seven practices they should focus on to achieve their goals regarding digital transformation. The solution simplifies the definition of competitive priorities and provides a path to follow, as well as recommending IT solutions to use.

 “In order to successfully undertake digital transformation, companies must focus on seven disciplines: planning, integration, visibility, applications, scalability, connectivity and consistency. Using tools like our digital assessment tool, we can help companies on their journey by ensuring personalized recommendations and a clear vision for the future,” says Wolfram Jost, CTO at Software AG.
