Software AG has just presented its Digital Business Platform at CeBIT, the world's largest IT event, which took place from March 16-20, 2015 in Hannover, Germany. The Digital Business Platform enables companies to adapt to rapid changes and huge opportunities in both the public and private sectors, driven by the growth of the global digital economy.

The European Commission estimates that the digital economy will reach 3.2 trillion euros, in the G20 countries alone, by 2016, and it already accounts for 8% of GDP. Software AG has identified conventional packaged business software, designed for relatively stable and predictable business situations, cannot provide the flexibility, agility and speed needed to meet the demands of today's digitized citizens and customers. The Digital Business Platform focuses on co-innovative promotion between Software AG, its partners and customers to rapidly develop and deploy adaptable and differentiated business applications and solutions.

Software AG's Digital Business Platform operates at the interface between real-time business operations and changing customer and market requirements. It allows for rapid and cost-effective development and aims at the customer to deploy a new type of front office business applications and solutions in a time frame that maximizes return on investment. It also offers a comprehensive approach to designing and implementing the flexible, cost-effective IT architectures needed to support these adaptable applications. It is interesting for many departments of a company. From the CIO, who needs to implement a flexible, cost-effective and optimized IT architecture, to business department managers, who need to rapidly develop adaptable applications at an individual, departmental or divisional level. DBP is also interesting for CEOs, who need to develop a company-wide digital strategy.

“Today's companies must go digital to have maximum visibility into changing market behavior, individual customer needs and their own business operations across supply chain change as well as changes in external parameters such as like regulations from a new government or even weather conditions,” said Software AG CTO Wolfram Jost.

The Digital Business Platform is designed to deliver “built for change” applications, processes, business models and companies to respond to real-time business events or rapidly changing market conditions. Unlike conventional ERP products designed to deliver long-term, out-of-the-box software that already exists and applies to predictable business situations and processes, the Digital Business Platform provides a rich portfolio for customers and partners and, in collaboration with Software AG, a less predictable, flexible, differentiated and profitable co-innovation, driver of business solutions. Adaptable solutions for events powered by the Internet of Things, streaming analytics and big data.
