Software AG announced the acquisition of Zementis, a company based in San Diego, California. The company offers “Deep Learning” software, which in addition to being a key capability for machine learning and data science, is a key technology for the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

With the acquisition, the company incorporated Zementis' adaptive assessment and predictive analytics platforms, ADAPA, into its Digital Business Platform, with the aim of providing companies with comprehensive insights for real-time business data analysis. Combining Software AG's streaming analytics with Zementis' predictive analytics solution provides accurate insights into user behavior, market dynamics, risks, and sensor insights into IoT initiatives.

“The impact of the Internet of Things on industry and society surpasses anything we have experienced to date,” comments Karl-Heinz Streibich, CEO of Software AG. “This innovation has been widely recognized by the market for delivering unique business insights by combining predictive analytics, machine learning, and streaming analytics. This combination has played a big role in Software AG's recent strategic Internet of Things partnerships.”

Software AG has frequently announced new strategic partnerships in the Internet of Things (or referring to the so-called Industry 4.0), such as alliances with Bosch, Dell, and Cumulocity, based on the integration of digital sensors and predictive maintenance. These capabilities will now incorporate machine learning-based automated decision technologies for use in manufacturing, logistics, and any use case where massive data processing exists.

Machine learning and artificial intelligence are key technologies for building intelligent Internet of Things applications, and they are also competitive resources for innovative organizations. To accelerate time-to-insight, Zementis focused on rapid operational deployment of predictive models – from basic statistical algorithms to complex predictive models and deep learning capabilities – for mission-critical applications such as risk statement, fraud detection and predictive maintenance. .

“Zementis was founded with a vision to deliver true interoperability for artificial intelligence, enabling machine learning and predictive models to move quickly from development to deployment. This allows organizations to easily incorporate AI into their everyday operations,” explains Michael Zeller, CEO of Zementis. "Software AG's open standards strategy motivates its customers to manage heterogeneous IT architectures and seamlessly complement the AI capabilities our solutions offer."
