The entity was selected for meeting all eligibility criteria
 
The Association for the Promotion of Excellence in Brazilian Software (Softex) was the only entity to meet the eligibility criteria established by the public notice for the selection of technical projects to work in the Strategic Program for Software and Information Technology Services (TI Maior). The result was released on April 2 by the Information Technology Policy Secretariat (Sepin) of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI).
 
The purpose of the public notice was to select a civil society organization of public interest (Oscip) that is technically and legally qualified to provide knowledge and management practices that guarantee the execution and achievement of the expected results for the TI Maior Program.

Softex's role
 
Due to the scope of the work, Softex should help in the enhancement of programs and projects that develop the ecosystems of TI Maior; support and promote innovation, the expansion of competitiveness and entrepreneurship in the sector; expand the production of applications, digital content and creative economy; and promote the realization of intelligence studies to understand the technological and market dynamics of the software and IT services chain to support the decision-making process.
 
The entity will also be responsible for carrying out the entire operations of the Start-up Brazil Program, including the selection of projects, definition of selection criteria, monitoring the development of startups, technical visits to the accelerators, proposing solutions for eventual obstacles in the acceleration and forwarding of suggestions for improving the program.
 
Softex has managed, since its creation in 1996, the Program for the Promotion of Excellence in Brazilian Software – Softex Program, considered a priority by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI). It is a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP) whose objective is to carry out support, development, promotion and promotion activities for the Brazilian Software and IT Services Industry. Softex's actions have the institutional, technical and financial support of several entities, including ABES.
