Smarttech, a Brazilian company specializing in technology and support services for engineering projects, has just entered into an agreement with Sindipeças (National Union of the Component Industry for Motor Vehicles) for technical support and training for companies associated with the entity.

The agreement was presented at the company's headquarters, in the industrial district of Holambra (SP), to representatives of companies in the automotive chain, including Ford, Mahle, ZF, Irizar, Sogefi, Hutchinson, TE Connectivity and Truck Bus, who visited the labs and the company's TechCenter test tracks.

The agreement foresees that Smarttech will provide engineering support for the development and optimization of products and production processes, with a reduction in cost and development time, in addition to practical training on the test track and experimentation in the TechCenter laboratories in the complete work cycle.

José Lauro Magalhães, Sindipeças IT and Innovation advisor, explained that the agreement is part of the program started two years ago by the entity as a stimulus to the development of industrial activity in the auto parts sector, which offers companies associated with the entity support in technology and innovation with special discounts. “We track the country in search of technological skills to help companies on the path of innovation”, he said, when presenting the project, which already has 26 partners, compared to the goal of 30 that Sindipeças intends to bring together by June 2017.

According to Magalhães, the agreement focuses mainly on small companies. The project also makes use of digital guides, available to associates with a password, which concentrate fundamental information for the development, optimization and resolution of product problems, in addition to solutions for production bottlenecks. “We are looking for innovative partners with enough expertise to improve the competitiveness of companies with better products and lower costs; our guides show where to find funding resources, testing laboratories and advanced technological research centers”, he explains.

Ricardo Nogueira, president of Smarttech, highlighted the widespread use of technology and its influence on consumer social behavior and on companies' decisions regarding meeting new demands. “We are experiencing a disruption in the industry where a product needs to be launched very quickly, there is no more time to think about longer-term projects, and this has a brutal impact on the way things are done, which we need to rethink”, he concluded.
