The Smart City Expo Curitiba Congress, the Brazilian edition of the largest smart cities event in the world, which takes place on February 28 and March 1, 2018, will have the presence of major international names in urbanism, architecture and public agents who have promoted transformations in cities around the world. ABES will institutionally support the event and its members will receive a 20% discount on registration for the congress.
 
The Smart City Expo Curitiba 2018 Congress will bring together 18 international speakers and 36 speakers from Brazil. The debates will focus on four themes: Disruptive Technologies, Governance, Digital Innovation and Sustainable Cities of the Future.
 
Participants will have at their disposal an application for smartphones that will provide access to all information about the program and can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play. Developed by the company mobLee, from Florianópolis, the app has several functions that will make the participant's experience more intelligent and profitable. One of them is a planner, which allows you to choose the lectures you want to see. When favorite discussions, the participant adds a reminder and activates the alarm notifying when it is about to start.
 
Internationally renowned speakers
 
One of the main names is that of architect and engineer Carlos Ratti, director of the Senseable City Lab at MIT, in the United States, a group responsible for studying technologies capable of transforming life in cities. Ratti was elected by Wired magazine as one of 50 people capable of changing the world and is currently the chair of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Future Cities. Ratti is responsible for the concept of “sensitive cities”, which emphasizes the human side of the city even in the midst of its technological transformation.
 
The event will also host important names such as Jorge Perez Jaramillo, former chief planner between 2012 and 2015 for the city of Medellín, Colombia (reference in urban transformations), Frans-Antom Vermast, urban planning strategy consultant at Amsterdam Smart City , Tia Kansara, founder of Kansara Hackney, an international consultancy that develops solutions for urban problems, Pedro Vidal, Santiago Smart City Program Manager, Chile, Agustín Suárez, Director General of Digital Management for the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina and Carolina Pozo, former -General Secretary of Planning, Innovation and Open Government for the city of Quito, Ecuador.
 
The various lectures will address topics related to innovation in cities, government involvement, population participation in public policies and services, sustainable economy, social inclusion, promotion of startups and development of sustainable urban environments, intelligent management of resources, applicability of technological and sustainable solutions. , among others.
 
Also under discussion will be the use and application of emerging technologies that can transform cities, such as industry 4.0, big data, internet of things, robotics, blockchain, artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
 
The exhibition area will have 800m² and will feature the participation of several Brazilian municipalities, international delegations and companies from all over Brazil that will exhibit innovative solutions for the construction of more efficient public services, with innovative technologies that make cities more sustainable. The public will also be able to visit the Smart Plaza, a space dedicated to fostering networking and exchanging knowledge.

The Smart City Expo Curitiba (www.smartcityexpocuritiba.com) will be the first Brazilian edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress (www.smartcityexpo.com/), held annually in Barcelona, the largest global event on the topic of Smart Cities, which brings together more than 18,000 people from 120 countries over the two days.
