The third edition of the biggest Brazilian event on smart cities, the Smart City Expo Curitiba 2022 (SCECWB) should bring together 10,000 people from all over the world on the 24th and 25th of March. The SCECWB has been organized since 2018 by the iCities Smart Cities Solutions – a business and solutions hub in smart cities, a pioneer in Brazil.

The event will again act as a great connection and networking hub between managers of public initiatives, directors and executives of private organizations, investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, development agencies and civil society in general.

Smart City Expo is part of a worldwide network of events, originated by the largest and most important smart city event in the world, the Smart City Expo World Congress, organized by Fira Barcelona. The world event gathers annually in Barcelona over 25 thousand participants from 150 countries.

In the 2019 edition (last in person before the Covid-19 pandemic), Smart City Expo Curitiba brought together 7 thousand people at Expo Barigüi. For 2022, part of the public will remotely follow the contents. The in-person audience will have all the health protocols of the WHO, municipal and state health bodies that are in force in March. Adding the two audiences, face-to-face and remote, it is estimated a total of 10 thousand people.
“The Barigüi Park was once again chosen as the location for the Smart City Expo for combining natural beauty and encouraging sustainability, with two renewable energy sources that supply its facilities: a photovoltaic plant and a mini hydroelectric plant”, highlights Marcelino. In addition, Parque Jaime Lerner – which brings together the Ópera de Arame and Pedreira Paulo Leminski – will have a special program during the event.
