From October 24th to 27th, 2016, São Paulo hosted the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo, one of the most important meetings of CIOs and IT strategic executives, at WTC Events. In addition to workshops, panels and presentations, the event brought together dozens of companies in the sector that presented their solutions to visitors.

The team from the ABES portal was there and went to check out the Sky.One bets, company that builds cloud solutions, which participated in the event to highlight its platform completely hosted in the cloud, through a strategic partnership with AWS – Amazon Web Services.

Cost reduction, infrastructure optimization, high availability, security and increased system performance are some of the advantages cited by the executive for the migration. “A differential of the Sky.One platform is that it allows any software not yet customized for cloud computing to run in this environment”, highlighted Ricardo Brandão, director of the company.

The executive informed that the focus has been on helping entrepreneurs in their journey to the cloud. “We see today that midsize companies are in a faster migration process. Large companies, on the other hand, follow a slightly slower pace, because they have a legacy installed. Small businesses are also waking up to the need to know more about this new model of access to technologies and business management”, he said.

In relation to Brazil, he also observed that, due to the economy, several companies failed to update their technological park in recent years and, with the prospects of resumption of growth, managers should directly opt for migrating to the cloud environment of the to invest in its own infrastructure, creating a positive scenario for companies in the IT sector.

According to the Brazilian Software Market Study - Panorama and Trends 2016, produced by ABES in partnership with IDC, it indicates that the public cloud - Iaas will still attract greater attention and will be the gateway for companies to the cloud world and will grow above from 20% per year until the end of the decade. On the other hand, the private cloud, through which organizations choose to invest in virtualization solutions and technologies, will continue to attract the interest of IT managers, especially from mid- to large-sized government and corporate entities.
