The insurance market is one of the few that did not feel strongly the effects of the crisis and, since 2014, it has been registering an annual growth of approximately 10%. Virtual Softwares para Seguros, a company that has shown expansion rates above the market average, recorded, in 2017, an increase in revenue of 41.9%. With an average growth of 25% in recent years, Sistemas Seguros has shown the same strength to conquer an important share of this sector. Seeking to make their business even more dynamic, the two companies have just signed the merger of their operations with the objective of becoming the largest company in the software segment for insurance brokers.

Together, they have 160 employees, offices in São Paulo and Paraná and are present in six of the top 10 insurance brokers in Brazil. From this union, they will be responsible for the annual processing of 4 million insurance policies, a total volume in managed premiums of R$ 18 billion and one for a portfolio of more than 2,000 clients. According to data from the Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP), this represents 10% of the total handled by the market in 2016, which reached R$ 197 billion premiums.

The expectation for this merger, in addition to the formation of a consolidated structure of action that will add the know-how and credibility acquired by the companies during the period of operation in the market, is the emergence of a company that will be a leader in the sector through the complementary technology solutions for customers of all sizes.

“Combining the largest company in the sector with the one that has grown the most in recent years is a source of pride for all of us. In recent years, we have been working for the growth of Sistemas Seguros nationwide. The merger with Virtual strengthens our strategy to gain even more market share”, emphasizes Fernando Rodrigues, CEO of Sistemas Seguros.

For Maurício dos Santos, CEO of Virtual Softwares para Seguros, this merger will also enable the two operations to “invest even more in personnel, structure, new products and solutions, to enable the consolidation of a prominent position among the main Insurtechs in Brazil” .

In the automobile category, the two companies processed, in 2017, R$ 7.5 billion, 23% of the R$ 32 billion registered by SUSEP as total Brazil. Together, Sistemas Seguros and Virtual Seguros are present in five of the 10 main financial institutions in the country.
