Most organizations still do not understand the real risks of letting their systems become obsolete. However, when a company neglects technological modernization, it becomes vulnerable due to a lack of security, for example, which can result in hacker attacks and invasions and, consequently, financial losses and reputational damage.

Another problem caused by this carelessness is dealing with the shortage of qualified labor, as many professionals avoid working in companies that do not modernize their systems and are “tinkering” with developments that become urgent. All this without counting the difficulties and high costs in implementing technological innovations, such as Artificial Intelligence, chatbots and applications, among others, bringing competitive disadvantages to the company.

In the public sphere, a recent Gartner executive survey shows that 57% of CIOs working in government globally plan to increase investments to replace legacy applications in search of modernization in 2023, increasing the 2022 numbers by 42%.

In the private sphere, considering the importance of updating systems, why do many companies still not do it? In most cases, the main reason is related to high costs. However, there are tools that are affordable and efficient in helping to update legacy systems.

In this line is Low-Code, for example, a technology that allows the creation, maintenance and updating of web and mobile systems with reduced use of programming codes, ensuring more agile and automated development, bringing productivity gains to the IT team.

Due to its advanced automation and low learning curve, Low-Code eliminates the need for extensive knowledge in several programming languages, not to mention the ease of learning low-code programming in a few months, thanks to its simplified approach.

With this technology, companies are able to adapt quickly to market demands, ensuring the delivery of solutions within reduced deadlines, resulting in a significant increase in ROI (Return on Investment). Furthermore, Low-Code is an ally in building a DevOps culture, as it enables the integration of all processes in the area.

Considering the financial risks and security issues that a company may face by neglecting to modernize its systems, it is necessary to be alert to obsolete technologies. In this context, Low-Code positions itself as an ally, offering an affordable solution that drives the creation of agile, robust, scalable and innovative systems.
