Siemens and Accenture announced that their joint venture operating in Smart Grid (Intelligent Grids), Omnetric, will expand its operations to Brazil and, in the future, throughout Latin America. Created in 2014 in Munich, the company brings together Siemens products and solutions and Accenture's management and technology consulting, systems integration and managed services skills. This combination provides the energy market with advanced data management and integration solutions and services that help utilities ensure greater reliability and efficiency in their networks.
The services and solutions offered by Omnetric Group will allow an efficient and customized integration of operational technologies (Operation Technologies – OT) – such as the management of distribution and other operations in real time – with IT systems, such as a data management platform of the measurement (meter data management), self-healing systems and others, allowing a more transparent and integrated management of all network applications.
The Omnetric Group intends to start its operations in Brazil this year. When the process is completed, the company will be based in the city of Belo Horizonte, where one of the Siemens Research and Development centers for Smart Grids is also located and where Accenture also has an office.
