Siemens Digital Industries Software today announced the latest update to its Simcenter™ portfolio, featuring advancements in aerostructure analysis, electric motor design, gear optimization and intelligent virtual sensing. These enhancements are designed to simplify workflows, speed up the certification process and provide more detailed insights into system performance.

Integrated aerostructure analysis: Simcenter automates the creation of free-body diagrams and margin of safety (MoS) calculations, accelerating certification processes in 20%. Engineers can now evaluate load paths in aircraft models and perform full-envelope MoS analyses without the need for expensive in-house tools.
Axial flux engine simulation: Simcenter enables faster design and simulation of compact, high-power-density motors. Engineers can quickly create lightweight designs using Simcenter™ E-Machine Design software, then seamlessly transition to 3D simulations in Simcenter™ 3D software, which performs comprehensive electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical performance evaluations.
Gear design optimization: Simcenter features lightweight gear blank parameterization and an optimization feature to improve gearbox noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). These tools help reduce late-stage design changes and simplify the development cycle.
Comprehensive Intelligent Virtual Sensor: Simcenter now offers rigid body motion sensors and damage assessment tools, providing insight into the durability and remaining life of machines, even in challenging test environments.
Efficiency and collaboration in simulation: Accelerates additive manufacturing simulations in 200% with improvements to voxel meshing and advanced collaboration with centralized model data, plus simplified load transfers and boundary conditions.
