Representatives from the technology and accounting services sector were in several offices of the National Congress to present critical points in the process of implementing the Tax Reform in progress and delivered the Manifesto for the Fair Operationalization of Consumption Tax Reform. The action, which began on May 13, will continue in the coming days and seeks to raise awareness among parliamentarians about these issues, resuming dialogue on this subject of vital importance for the country.
The entities ABES, BRASSCOM, FENAINFO and ASSESPRO, accompanied by other organizations such as CFC – Federal Accounting Council and FENACON – National Federation of Accounting Services Companies, delivered the manifesto to congressmen, detailing concerns and suggestions, including:
1. Technical Guidelines: that objective guidelines be published for the sectors responsible for the development and adaptation of tax and accounting assessment and management systems.
2. Operationalization Costs: that the Federal Revenue, SERPRO and other competent authorities assume the costs related to the operationalization of data and the integration of the calculation systems for new taxes.
3. Implementation Schedule: that the Federal Revenue, the IBS Steering Committee and other authorities present a detailed schedule for the implementation of the systems linked to the tax reform.
4. Deadline for Implementation: that, after requests have been met, a minimum deadline of 12 months is respected for the start of implementations by the private sector, ensuring operational security during the transition.
According to participants, the offices demonstrated receptiveness and committed to analyzing the document, in addition to considering amendments to the PLC 108, currently under discussion in the Federal Senate. “The initiative reinforces the engagement of business entities in building a fairer and more efficient economic environment. Now, we await the next steps in the legislative process, confident that our demands will be considered”, highlights Marcelo de Almeida, Director of Government Relations at ABES who is involved in the activity.
