New solution brought agility and greater control
A reference in the hand protection and food safety market, Volk do Brasil chose to invest in the Logistics Management | WMS by Senior – a company specialized in offering software for business management, people management, logistics, customer relations and access control – to improve processes and increase the company's productivity.
The solution, which operates in an integrated manner with the ERP, brought about a 15% improvement in order picking time at Volk, where it was implemented to manage a warehouse with an area of 5,600m² and 4,178 pallet positions. The system controls 618 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) and manages a thousand items per day.
The previous order identification process was slow, as the picker needed to locate the product in the warehouse and verify that it was in the correct quantity. With Senior's system, it was possible to speed up this step, since the separator goes straight to the correct location and obtains data in real time. As a result, Volk practically doubled the number of orders using the same team of professionals due to the agility that the tool offers.
Senior's solution also allowed the inventory level to be measured more assertively. To make the balance, before it was necessary a general inventory, which forced the stop of the company's activities for up to 15 days and resulted in losses in the invoicing. With the operation of the new solution in January 2017, the process became much simpler and automated.
