Senior, one of the main developers specializing in management technology in the country, announces the integration of a virtual assistant to its Business Management | ERP. It is the first company in Latin America to incorporate IBM's cognitive computing platform, Watson, into an ERP system.

Named Sara (Senior Automated and Responsive Agent), the virtual assistant, developed with the IBM Bluemix cloud platform, allows users to interact in a simple and natural way with the management system. With natural language, Sara can execute commands, search for information or perform transactions. The assistant is able to perform several queries on Senior's ERP, answering information such as financial situation, telephone contacts and payment details. Among the benefits, the solution increases the productivity of professionals and allows faster and more efficient access to information for decision making.

Currently, Senior's virtual assistant is present in the Logistics Management | WMS and Relationship Management | CRM. By the end of this semester, the ERP and HR solutions will have bots integrated into most of their various functionalities, which positions the company as one of the first suppliers in Brazil to offer a portfolio of management technologies that incorporate cognitive computing functionalities .

According to a survey by Bank Of America Merrill Lynch, the market for virtual assistants or chatbots like Sara, by Senior, should move US$ 153 billion by 2020. “Sara represents an important step towards reinforcing Senior's pioneering spirit and innovation in the management technologies market, offering companies solutions that help to gain performance, reduce expenses with time and costs and, consequently, help in business productivity”, says Jean Vieira, Development director at Senior. “The system has the ability, based on user behavior, to adapt and develop new skills, just like the human brain, which allows us to further improve Sara's services”, comments the executive.

For David Dias, leader of Watson Channels & Ecosystem at IBM Brazil, the results obtained through the use of cognitive platforms such as Watson show, in practice, how cognitive assistants will transform the nature of work and how individuals will interact with applications and machines. "In the next five years all management applications will have some kind of cognitive technology, whether in the interaction and exchange of data with end users or even in the replacement of algorithms based on rules, by systems that can understand, learn, improve and even even operate autonomously, says the executive.

"Integrating Watson to Senior's ERP brought us an even clearer view of how cognitive technologies can be disruptive by increasing their analysis capacity, promoting the connection between the real and digital world, making ERP usability simpler and more interactive" , adds Claudio Bessa, Ecosystem and Startups development leader for Latin America at IBM Cloud.

Specialized in offering software for business management, people management, logistics, customer relationship and access control, Senior operates throughout Brazil with branches, offices, business units and distribution channels, offering both consulting and integrated systems that support its customers in the optimization of business processes and models, innovation and productivity, simplifying decision-making and boosting management.
