Senate approves tax exemption for new tech companies

The Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE) unanimously approved, on a final basis, the Senate Bill 321/2012, authored by Senator José Agripino (DEM), which creates the Special Treatment System for New Technology Companies (SisTENET), in order to benefit startups with tax exemption for two years, extendable for another two.
 
After this period, entrepreneurs will be able to opt for inclusion in Simples Nacional. As the text was approved on a final basis, it does not need to be voted on in the Plenary — unless there is a resource for doing so. If there is no presentation of resources, the project goes to vote in the Chamber of Deputies.
