Sebrae, in partnership with Embrapa, launched the first programming marathon bringing together university students, programmers, startup entrepreneurs and professional developers aimed at creating an application for aquaculture entrepreneurs, focused on business management. The programming marathon will take place from October 19 to 28, at Sebrae PI's headquarters, in Teresina.

In this first edition of Hackathon Aquitech, up to 15 teams will be selected, with three to five participants. Applications can be made until 11:59 pm on October 15, through the website: www.sebrae.com.br/desafioaquitech, where a form will be made available to interested parties.

During the week of October 19 to 25, webinars (webconferences) will be held to provide competitors with information about the economic segment of aquaculture, with a focus on management. Also during this period, a series of technical and management content will be made available to the participating teams, so that they can start developing the application. Also at this stage, each team will have the individual mentoring of a specialist in this productive segment. The consultations will take place at a distance, via Skype, email and other tools, at times to be agreed between the team and their mentor.

On October 27th and 28th, the in-person stage takes place and, at the end, the Jury Panel, when the winners will be announced. Over the course of two days, the teams will have the opportunity to interact with several specialists in the segment and in management. The objective of this stage is to seek innovative solutions, so that fine adjustments can be made before presenting to the bank. The best-constructed and scored idea, according to the judges, will be the winner.

The proposal ranked 1st will receive as an award, specialized technical consultancy for the improvement of the application and business development, starting in November 2017. This stage will last for six months, with the final product having the ready-to-use application. In addition, the three best-placed teams will participate (with up to two members) in Campus Party SP and meet up with potential investors.
