The goal is to reach the mark of 80 innovation environments accredited to SPAI

The Department of Science, Technology and Innovation launches the São Paulo State Innovation Program, guaranteeing new investments, internationalization and aiming to reduce bureaucracy in access to the system. Investment in Innovation Environments is R$10 million for SPAI members, a Fapesp notice worth a similar amount of R$10 million per year, for public or private environments and a line of financing from Desenvolvimento SP for projects of up to R$15 million, targeted for innovative businesses. The event, which takes place in celebration of SPAI's ten years, brought together several innovation players, directors of innovation environments and authorities.

The state of São Paulo has more than 40 Innovation Environments, distributed among Technology Parks, Innovation Centers and Incubators. “Now, we have a crucial moment to leverage the ecosystem of innovative companies. This type of initiative aims to positively impact the economy and society, not only locally, but also globally. It is a unique opportunity to bring together leaders, experts and startups to share knowledge, establish partnerships and identify new business opportunities”, says Vahan Agopyan, Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of the State of São Paulo.

In the new modality, there will be an incentive for the internationalization of innovative companies, based in the state of São Paulo. This movement demonstrates the strength and potential of São Paulo’s innovation ecosystem. These companies, leaders in their areas of activity, have the potential to expand their business to several countries around the globe, taking with them the expertise and quality of products and services developed in Brazil. “The opposite path will also be possible, as we will show the world how advantageous our State is for companies from all over the world to be here”, adds Agopyan.

Innovation environments have the necessary experience to transform scientific knowledge into concrete actions for the development of the economy and society. These environments, such as incubators, accelerators and technology parks, bring together qualified professionals and resources to drive the practical application of scientific advances, converting them into innovative solutions that meet the demands and needs of the community. This synergy between theoretical knowledge and its materialization in products and services is fundamental to promoting economic growth and social progress in a sustainable way.
