SAS, a benchmark in the Analytics market, announces the arrival of the SAS Viya suite of solutions, a new high-performance data analysis and visualization technology. The technology is applicable to the cloud and offers a unified, open, simple and powerful platform, capable of solving analytical challenges, in a modular way and according to the needs of companies.
The novelty was presented to the market during the SAS Global Forum (SGF) 2016, the largest Analytics event in the world, which took place in April in Las Vegas (USA). Starting in May, the solution's offerings will be restricted to selected customers, and will be available to the market in the third quarter of 2016.
According to Randy Guard, executive vice president and CMO at SAS, analytics technologies are at the heart of today's companies, producing new opportunities and enhancing user experiences. “SAS Viya offers enterprises, governments and other organizations a single, open, cloud-ready architecture. It's easy to use, scalable to face all analytical challenges and deliver value in analytics with the most different combinations of skills,” he says.
The SAS architecture also ensures easy cloud and on-site development, accessible with popular programming languages, initially with Python, Lua and Java, as well as public REST APIs. In addition to the multi-application architecture, SAS Viya also delivers a “multi-cloud” platform for analytics, utilizing a single codebase to ensure consistent, reusable and adaptable assets as the infrastructure evolves.
All initial offerings will have easy-to-view, self-service interfaces as well as interactive programming interfaces. The 2016 version will include:
SAS Visual Analytics: offers data visualization and data discovery, interactive reporting and data exploration with self-service facility. It is already in operation in thousands of locations around the world and will be among the first products made available by SAS Viya.
SAS Visual Statistics: provides a graphical user interface and another for modeling and programming. Users can interactively create and refine models for specific groups or segments, quickly revealing new insights for the business.
SAS Visual Investigator: It is a new product that offers graphical and interactive investigation capabilities and intelligent data management. It enables intelligence analysts and investigators to reduce false positives, simplify investigative processes, combat fraud and improve customer segmentation.
SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning: It is a new product that offers SAS Visual Data and Machine Learning to data scientists, who can easily apply machine learning and data mining techniques to structured and unstructured data. Developers can build a single model to be deployed anywhere.
