São Paulo occupies the 40th position in the Dell Future-Ready Economies Model ranking, which elected the world's metropolises that stood out for their ability to allow people and companies to access new tools and ideas that guarantee better connectivity, economic performance and ability to attract talent. The capital of São Paulo was the best positioned metropolis among Latin American cities, ahead of Buenos Aires and Mexico City.
 
The 50 cities that appear in Dell's global ranking were evaluated on three dimensions:
 
Human capital - have people with the appropriate knowledge to make significant changes from an economic and social point of view.
 
Infrastructure — have the structure necessary to support people, businesses and technologies that ensure progress over time.
 
Business - provide a continuous opportunity for companies to accelerate innovation, growth and profitability.
 
The ranking is based on analyzes conducted by global analytics firm IHS. In practice, it uses a methodology based on insights from experts in the public sector, technology companies, start-ups and education.
